a. sunghoon is a quasi-celebrity, known more in certain circles than others, namely the world of ice skating or when you're talking about families that aren't quite old money but are definitely not new money either. people know the park family, for one reason or another, and thus they usually know about sunghoon's general existence. he also has, by none of his own effort, acquired his very own fanclub (cringe) that taken to calling him the "ice prince".

b. the media has portrayed the son of the park family as quiet but kind, cool but a dork. it's a part of the fame machine. while it's not that sunghoon isn't any of those things on occasion, it should be understood that he's definitely not the heartthrob prince charming that his fans and supporters makes him out to be.

c. his father is big in the world of real estate and finance, and is known for mingling with politicians. his mother is a socialite. they've been divorced since he was three, and his mother has been living in europe with her new husband for a hand-full of years now. his father has also since remarried, and divorced, and married again. his most recent wife is 30 years old. sunghoon has a younger biological sister who lives with their mother, a stepsibling he's close enough to, and a new half-sibling on the way.

d. he's been immersed in the world of figure skating from the day his mother could get him to walk, and has dedicated himself to the sport. he's on the skating team at yonsei, and even before attending school, sunghoon's been in competitions. he doesn't plan on doing it forever, doesn't really have the choice, but if he can't be found in his room or with his few friends, then he's on the ice.

e. big surprise, his father is a yonsei alumni, as is his grandfather and and his mother. it's the only school he applied to. AGR was obviously a no-brainer. expectations and all. been there ever since.

the famed "ice prince of yonsei"'s ice skating career is slowly on the decline. he competes less, only practices solo and by himself, often fills the role of a mentor when it comes to the school team. almost gets angry when asked too many questions.

those in the greek life side of things might recall an accident where a freshman got too drunk during rush, thankfully surviving a huge fall that managed to only result in physical harm but not death. a lot of details were kept private at request of the family, and AGR didn't get any flack for it as it was blamed on a shaky railing. something easily brushed off as just another day at the house already notorious for it's history with hazing.

sunghoon was that freshman. he doesn't remember how the fall happened, but he recalls the seniors at the time pushing for him and another candidate to keep drinking despite their concerns. he remembers being in the hospital, half out of it as the doctors explain to his mother that his leg was messed up and the AGR president telling his father he was being accepted into AGR as an apology, no questions asked.
